What is there to say about Texas Penal Code 1.06.  Some lawyer at some point decided that they needed to define the computation of a person's age to occur on the day of the anniversary of his birthdate.  For the life of me I can't imagine how anyone else was calculating it before our benevolent lawmakers clarified this timeless question.  It was apparently so complicated that after being passed in 1974 it was amended in 1993.  The original language was the same so I have no idea what the reason for the change was in the acts amended in 1993.
